More information on the card payments outage

Dear user,

As you may have noticed, we currently do not process card payments, and it has been like that for the past 3 days. This post aims to dig in on the situation a bit more and inform you on our steps we're taking to resolve this.

What happened? Fansito resulted from a migration of a Greek subscription-based social platform. For the time that the Greek platform was running, it was using Stripe as a payment provider. Stripe did successfully review and approve the platform, and it was working for more than 1 year.

As the Fansito migration happened, we were required to open our own Stripe account under our own company. Plain logic here says that, since Stripe approved the previous platform, it will also approve our own, since it's basically the same; by all means!

Unfortunately, that was not the case. Our application on Stripe was not approved and they paused our account for the reason that Fansito contains nudity. Stripe indeed does not allow adult-oriented businesses to use their service. This however, as far as we understand, is not always strict, and this may have been the reason why the previous platform successfully used Stripe for so long, without any issues.

What's next? We're currently working with another payment provider, which allows adult-oriented businesses. It does however require several days for the process to complete, and this includes the technical side of integrating their API with our platform.

How do I become a creator?

If you want to become a creator and publish exclusive content for your fans, you can go ahead and sign-up on fansito. After you create your account, you need to go through a verification process.

These are the steps:

You must fill in your personal details, including address
You must upload a profile photo and a cover photo for your profile
You're required to upload a selfie picture, where you hold your ID or other document that includes a photo of you. Take the selfie by holding the ID. Both your face and the ID must be visible. The person who uses the Fansito account must be the same person on the ID. verification.

After verification you submit the verification, it may take up to 48hours to get verified.

From fanz.gr to fansito.com. Tax updates due to regulations.

Dear User,

We would like to inform you that fanz.gr has changed to fansito.com. This change includes a multitude of upgrades and new features. Fansito now runs under a different company.

Along with these changes, we need to inform all fans of the following: Every payment you make from here on out will include tax, depending on the country you're in when you make the purchase. In case you are Greece, for example, 24% VAT will be added to every payment. In order to make any kind of payment, you need to enter your valid billing address on your account. For users with active subscriptions: All your subscriptions will be canceled at the end of their valid period. If you completed adding your billing address and want to automatically renew all your active subscriptions, please visit your subscriptions page and click on the button. In case you have a registered company, you can enter the company details in the billing information, and the transaction will be considered B2B, so no tax will be applied. In case you need help, please don't hesitate to open a support ticket.

Fansito uses one the largest and most secure payment gateways available, CCBill. Every transaction is handled by CCBill, and does not even reach our servers.

CCbill has excellent security features, is considered safe and used by major platforms around the world.

What's the split revenue?

Creators earn eighty five percent (85%) of the net revenue, after taxes and transaction fees, generated on all subscriptions, sales, or tips related to their content and user profile.
